The NYSPHADA legislative committee is very pleased to announce that the New York State Budget has set aside $75 million in capital funding for public housing authorities outside of New York City. This is another great victory for NYSPHADA and will continue to provide the valuable resources our members need to modernize and rebuild their facilities.
We are very grateful to Governor Kathy Hochul, NYS Homes & Community Renewal Commissioner RuthAnne Visnauskas, Deputy Secretary of Housing Tania Dissanayake, Assistant Secretary of Housing Adam Zaranko, NYS Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie, NYS Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart- Cousins and all of our valued partners in the state legislature.
A very special thanks goes out to the respective chairs of the housing committees in each chamber, Senator Brian Kavanagh and Assemblywoman Linda Rosenthal who have been tireless champions for NYSPHADA!
