REVERE HOUSING AUTHORITY

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

 

Responsible for the management of 900 conventional public housing units which includes 194 units of federal public housing and 598 units of state public housing; included in the state public housing units are 106 units of Section 8 new construction. In addition, 465 Section 8 units and 107 vouchers under the MRVP/AHVP/DMH Programs. The candidate must be familiar with both Commonwealth of Massachusetts (DHCD) Housing Requirements and the U.S. Department of HUD Federal Housing Programs. The candidate is required to possess the following qualifications:

 

  1. Eight (8) years’ experience in housing management, community development, public administration, or six (6) years plus a bachelor’s degrees.
  2. Five (5) years in a significant supervisory or management capacity at a public housing authority or other similar experience. Must have supervised a staff of 10 or more during that period.
  3. Working knowledge of fiscal management, maintenance systems, personnel and administrative management systems in public or private housing.
  4. Considerable knowledge of local, state, and federal government procedures and regulations as they relate to housing development, construction, and the management of local housing authority operations.
  5. Substantial background in the implementation of management controls and systems.
  6. Possess excellent written and oral communication skills, proven leadership ability, the    skills necessary to provide management consultation, guidance and advice to officials on a broad range of public housing programs.
  7. Possess a Public Housing Managers certification from accredited organization as recognized by HUD or DHCD. Also, must be bondable.
  8. Demonstrate sensitivity to the problems and concerns of resident groups and the needs of people of various socio-economic backgrounds.
  9. Qualified candidates will have experience in RAD and demonstrate experience in financing and developing affordable housing, mixed-income, including the use of low-income housing tax credits. The position is open until filled.
